Music Industry

Remember when music meant so much people would pay something to for an artist to continue?

I just quit this great band because there was no value in it for me. I have to eat. There is value in music and I will always play but if I am asked to pay another penny to PLAY I will put all my anger in a giant fuck you chat.

Bands used to get a piece of the liquor sales or door sales... Now they are to bring all their friends ......then they may have some of that money so your same friends come every show until they eventually say I just saw you last week or I don't feel like going downtown. You kind of feel like a burden...People love the atmosphere and the music ... but something is off when it's your friends and new fans that you promoted to then the bar takes most of the profits.

I don't know if it's the bars don't bring in the clients as they used to or there is just too much to take our attention now. I do miss playing a full house of new ears, we always preform our best as this was the original system.

There were oceans of people with disposal cash for t shirts or cd's the bar was happy the musicans practiced, could buy gear, rent a hotel or Van. There was a recent article I read about Iggy Pop not being able to survive, he is iconic, it's kind of unbelievable. I have met rich musicans but more just having fun. The stories of bands rolling in extra cash, fans and parties was rock and roll...

I remember meeting a famous drummer at a jam night 'Jonsey' funny guy did some midget act ah la the Carol Brunette show...he did a couple classic songs. Great singer, and professional drummer... He was on 300 milligrams of morphine and had Percocet prescription also for a bum leg. He was the drummer for Ducette ... I think that's how you spell it. Mama let him play ..... That is one bad ass guitar solo!!!

Any way old man Jonsey lived in some shady spots. He needed help moving, I had a truck he had no money but free Percs and some great stories, One time he mentioned he ripped off a bank robber, then lived in the Mediterranean for a year, somehow csis got wind.... Bl bla bla I am new to Steem, I can tell more if anyone interested.

I am not new to crypto and even have a great claim with evidence regarding my work before Bitcoin/blockchain I can give you an MP3 just contact me and I could email it... I quit music because I have to chase money.

Great post. The music scene isn't what it used to be. I still love to play out though.

We need a preview button. Having trouble posting pics
