Now, Billboard lists it as a separate genre and airs top tunes on their charts. There are some of the veteran artists and young lads who are contributing a lot in placing the genre at the place where it is now and ripping big a** rewards in the name of highest paid DJs in the world. Once again, Forbes has come up with its Cash Kings list of EDM DJs, who are making big bucks at DJ booths.
Calvin Harris, a 33 year old Scottish DJ and songwriter has been producing some of the greatest tunes that set Billboard 200 charts on fire. He even surpassed, Michael Jackson with his singles on UK charts. He gets paid an enormous amount of 48.5 million US dollars making him the highest paid DJ in the world. He lives on a mountain top with his own in house studio equipped with state of the art technology help in producing his addictive tracks.
Tiesto, popularly known as godfather of EDM continuous to make millions and spotted second on Forbes Cash Kings list with a massive earnings of 39 millions, just after Calvin Harris. He has been making the crowd go wild with his chunky numbers for about two decades now and seems like he’s not going to retire anytime soon.
The Taggart and Pall combination, better known as “The Chainsmokers” have recently entered the genre when compared to veteran DJs like Tiesto and David Guetta; however this hit pair have been producing smashing hits since 2012. They traveled a journey from top 20 singles hits to their recent top one “closer” track. They made a huge $38 million and continues to give tough competition to the contemporary artistes.
Skrillex is another revolution in the EDM world, ranking fourth with total earnings of 30 million US dollars, The 29 year old, world famous American versatile EDM artist who writes, sings, produces Electronic music has been releasing fabulous music with billions of views on social networking sites.
Steve Aoki, is another well experienced Electronic Dance Music artiste playing gigs for over two decades now. He is listed as the 5th highest paid DJ in the world with his income totaling to a massive $29.5 million.
Next in the race is none other than Diplo, an American songwriter, producer and DJ who worked with some of the most popular celebrities in the music world such as Justin Bieber. Unlike other artists, Diplo purely associates himself with EDM music since 1997 and had produced mesmerizing music so far. He came 6th in the list with $28.5 million total earnings and missed 5th place by just one million. He had promising music graphs with two Grammy Awards in his pocket and continues to make pump up beats for millions of his fans.
David Guetta spotted at 7th on the Forbes list with his earnings totaling to $25 million. He came up with a lot of addictive numbers through his studio albums, EPs and solos.
These artists are just not making the money but winning billions of hearts with their highly energetic, alive and adrenaline pumping dance music.
