In general, the role of the bass player is underestimated. They are never in the center, you often find them in the back and in general they do not really attract attention. I think it was high time that the bass gets more attention. Hence this series.
How do I select the songs? First and foremost, I look if I can learn something from it. Play along with songs is for me one of the best ways to delve into writing a good bass line. You learn to use the right chords, you discover new styles and you develop your own technique.
The other reason is simple: I am always looking for cool bass lines and often can not wait to learn them.
