AlbumReview - Europe Walk the Earth

I thought I made a new section kinda thingy here. Me reviewing new rock/metal albums. Maybe it's something that might be interesting, I don't know, so I start of with one new album and see how it goes.

Reviewed this time:
Europe with the album "Walk The Earth"

It starts with the title track and already I got that eerie feeling I heard it all before, and yes after the intro it's just a version of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir, just with other lyrics. Cover it with a Deep Purple keyboard-like sound and there you have it the new Europe.
But maybe it was a one time thing, so on to the next song "The Siege", and again that creepy feeling again. It could very well be a new Deep Purple song. But I could be wrong of course, although I doubt it.
"Kingdom United" is song number three, and well it starts out ok, no real Deep Zeppelin influences this time, just a mediocre rock song. Nothing that will stay in your head like "The Final Countdown", even though that was more pop then rock.
On to "Pictures", a ballad. Already? After just three songs? It's not like you need to rest your head after headbanging to those three songs, but ok. It's filled with pianosound, and an orchestra (although that could very well be just a keyboard programmed like an orchestra).
"Election Day" is next and low and behold Deep Purple influences creeps in again. Could be a Deep Purple left-over. It's not a very good song in my opinion. This song has a steady progressive rock beat, but somehow it just doesn't work for this band. And the musical intermezzo's in the song are just copies of Deep Puprle.
Anyway next song: "Wolves". A slow metallike rocksong with harmony voices in the chorus. Not a good song at all, just doesn't fit in with the rest of the album, almost like it's something they had left over and decided the album was too short and put it on as a filler.
"GTO", damn again Deep Purple? Can't these guys think of something themselves anymore? Although Joey can't reach the high notes like Ian can, not that he doesn't try, but he just can't reach it.
"Haze". Wait, is this another song? I didn't realize it at first it, the beginning sounds like the previous song. And this time Led Zeppelin rears it's head again. Some experimental beats in this song and that's all I can say.
"Whenever You're Ready". Ok a little more up tempo, its an ok song sounds a bit like their previous album and if they would have more of this on this album I would maybe like it a little more. And yes, I'm ready to stop listening, but still one more song to go...
Last song: "Turn To Dust" a semi ballad and again covered with Deep Zeppelin influences. It's ok I guess.
Oh wait at the very end after you wait 15 seconds you get a 26 seconds hidden track with some instrumental jazz.
In conclusion: if you're a fan of Europe you will probably like this album/ If you're a fan of Deep Purple you like this Purple cover album a little bit. If you're a fan of Led Zeppelin you might also like this Zeppelin coveralbum a tiny bit. Me? I don't like it all. Sure the musicians are good, the voice is at time pretty good too, but it just all sounds like Deep Purple meets Led Zeppelin, and that's just too bad in my opinion, these guys from Sweden can do much better. On the other hand it's only 41 minutes, so maybe that's a plus.
(I'm pretty sure I'll be crucified for not liking this album that much by Europe fans, but I don't care)
