Jambalaya37 , first Cooking Groove Band
The combo from Turin, Jambalaya 37, has come back with a new work focused on a savoury blend of spicy and many-sided sounds, at the confluence of jazz, soul, funk, a modernised acid jazz and much more.
All the five tracks on this new EP produced by the band, properly called “Cooking Groove”, prove to be a triumph of groove which aims to overcome any fences in order to settle in a creative freshness which brings the expectation of a next full length.
Jambalaya 37 confirm all the good they suggested through their previous EPs (Sweet Jamba and Strade Liquide) licensed over the last three years; which is a successful recipe so as to draw the attention (and keep the engine warm) to a project marked by an international slant. This is a rare outcome for an italian band which is not related to some exotic "xenophilia", at all; the band show that it’s possible to evade national borders - and it’s not by chance that one track is called “Borders” which refers to the absence of territorial limits that become mainly a mental barrier as well as an excuse for unequal diversities – by making an high-quality music which doesn’t shake the flag and doesn’t risk getting lost in the rivulets of provincialism.
