Producing Story-Telling Hip Hop Beats With Instrumentals # 22 - God Knows (FREE DOWNLOAD)

For this hip hop instrumental beat, I started off with the sound Acoustic Grand Piano in the vsti sample tank. As you can see in the screenshot above is the main pattern to the main melody. Looks pretty easy and not to complicated right?

After I laid down the foundation melody to get the instrumental music going, I then started to work on the drums for the beat. I like to keep my drum patterns simple because it allows the melody to flourish. Some of my beats have simple drum works and some have complicated drum patterns with a lot of break downs. It all depends on the type of vibe that I'm getting off the beat. Make sure to listen to what your instrumental music is telling you when you are creating it because music speaks to us and if you can't hear your own music that you are creating then you're going to have a tough time bonding with your own creation in my opinion.

I also manage to add some SQ Strings out of the VSTi plugin purity to add to that story-telling vibe to the instrumental track. I think these strings did the story-telling instrumental justice! This string sound is also one of my favorite sounds to use when creating an instrumental beat. I just like how cinematic it sounds. If you're keeping up with my post then you should know by now that I love cinematic type of sounds that make an instrumental sound theatrical. These are the 1st long string sound that you'll hear in this story-telling instrumental track.

You know I couldn't forget about the world famous SUB BASS from the VSTi plugin Hypersonic on my instrumental beat. It's not really world famous, I just said that because I'm always using this sub bass for most of my instrumental hip hop music beats or in other genres of instrumentals that I create. This bass line is basically going along with the melody of the beat, can you hear it? This bass is what gives the instrumental beat it's bump, very hard to miss if you have some good headphones or speakers in general.

In the build up part of the instrumental story telling beat, I added these 12 strings acoustic guitars found in the sample tank vsti. You can hear this guitar having a solo act along side with the strings at 1:55, it's very hard to miss :-P

Last but not least, to support the main melody sound, I added these 2nd set of strings called the Mid Strings that I also got from the VSTi plugin called PURITY. This is the sound that you'll hear in the intro of the instrumental beat sound. This sound also comes back in at the 23 second mark and is mixed in into the build of the beat. Mixing is always key to any music and I really believe that without a good mix to any music, then the music itself wouldn't sound that great. Can you imagine a world of music without mixing? I can't and I think music wouldn't sound that great if we didn't fix the levels to each sound.
