Entirely Random [ER]#6 -- Music from 1975, France
Janko Nilović Drug Song
Janko Nilović is one hell of a musician. Born in 1941 in Istanbul, the man has produced over 50 albums and much, much other work in the past 5+ decades.
He is mostly known for being a "library" musician; for those who don't know, that pretty much means he is a for-hire musician who's skills are often sought to make a wide variety of music for labels to sell to TV shows, movies, etc. He also put out plenty of solo work that is quite amazing, and spans across pretty much every genre you can imagine.
His work has also been sampled by quite a few producers as well. If you've been in public in the last decade, you've probably heard Jay-Z's D.O.A. (Death of Auto-tune). Well, Janko is the man behind the very, very iconic sample.
To my knowledge, he is still producing music. Several record labels have re-printed different albums or compilations of his work; not common for library musicians.
I'm quite particular to his jazz, funk, and psych rock work. The song below is pretty much a good example of all three. It was originally composed in 1975, but has been re-printed in 2001 in France on a compilation Soul Impressions. It's a great listen, if you like this(and how couldn't you?), I'm guessing you'll like the rest of his work.
Enjoy :)
