My Favourite 3 Guitarists. ( This Week Anyway)

in #music6 years ago (edited)

Greetings guitarists.
Today I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite old skool guitar players that have left a mark on me and have inspired me throughout the years.

Kicking off with #3

The incredible Dimebag Darrel

Man, this solo from Domination gives me the chills!
Incredible band and some guitar player!
Dime had a natural talent a great character and had the ability to play amazingly whilst drunk off his head :D
RIP dude.

Slapping #2 on the head.

The awesome Joe Satriani.

Joe is a super player and is still giving it 100% by touring and writing new material.
This tune Flying In A blue dream grabbed me by the bollocks when I first heard it.
Really nice groove with huge atmosphere!
One of my favourites.

And in at #1

I thought about it for a while but Mr Steve Vai has come up trumps because of his individuality.
Nobody can play guitar like he does.. Well many people can but they are only copying his style and techniques.
His style is widely popular with today's guitarists and requires a certain inner ability to get it right.

I was there during this performance in London.
Sat down with my peanuts and crisps loving it :D

Who are your favourite players?

I hope you enjoy the tracks!

Remember...
Play guitar every day!

I strive not to be a man of success, but rather to be a man of value.

Since you asked, I gotta say Buckethead. He's evolved in the last 8 years and has created a staggering 300+ albums of great material called "Pikes". He has them all on his bandcamp (music.bucketheadpikes.com).

He does more than just notes-per-second faster than anyone. He plays and writes with real emotion as in "Watching Boats with my Dad", "Lone Lagoon", "Cloud", and" Ancient Desert" (and 200+ other songs). Someone put together 12 hours of his soft music linked at bottom.

His collaboration with Les Claypool and the late great Bernie Worrell (Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains) was a legendary live show.

He's great live and well as the studio...And nunchucks! Also a mention for Buckethead's guitar hero, the late great Shawn Lane.

12 Hours of Softer Buckethead:

9 Hours of heavier stuff
