Grapthar's Song of the Day: Jeff Buckley 'Vancouver'
Jeff Buckley - Vancouver
Jeff Buckley was one of the single
greatest songwriters of all time, and unfortunately didn't release that much material because of his early death. He began his career playing as a session musician, and then live playing cover songs , but slowly developed his own style in voice and guitar. He had some serious songwriting abilities, and wrote incredibly complex, musically dense songs that still sound incredibly original to this day.
Listen to Vancouver by Jeff Buckley here.
This song was released posthumously
on the album Sketches of My Sweetheart the Drunk, which was various remastered/remixed songs that had been left behind when Buckley passed away (they would have been released by him as My Sweetheart the Drunk). This is my personal favorite on this album, and possibly of all of his music. The guitar is amazing, it's really harmonically dense, and his melodies on top of this are equally interesting and unique.
Enjoy the tune! Thanks for checking out my blog, and Steem On!

Beautiful voice he really can sing like an angel I am impressed indeed.
Dang. I guess no one will know what was going through Jeff's mind to think that was it. It's a struggle that not a lot of people can identify with.
All you steemians out there. If you are feeling on the down and outs.... Send me a message. We can talk this sorta thing through.
Life may feel like you need to leave everything. But you just end up leaving a lot more things for the ones you love.
He had a long successful career ahead of him, it's definitely sad. Although, I don't think he committed suicide, I believe he drowned while swimming in a river? Either way, super sad.
Yea dang. I may have been thinking of Chris Cornell .
It's sad all around. :(
Ah yeah, also super dope guitarist, amazing talents both.
