'FLUX CLUB' - NEW ORIGINAL MUSIC! - ELECTRONIC/DANCEY/SILLY + THEORY WALKTHROUGH!
Overview of the song.
This is a silly little song
from the other night... I had started with Track 1, but I wasn't sure what kinda song it was gonna be. It turned into a dancey, fun thing and kind of reminded me of the night club in Mass Effect called "Flux", hence the title haha. It's kind of a strange tune, but I like to share the weird too. Let's get into it.
Listen to FluxClub here.
Track 1 is the synth tone
that swells in on the upbeats, giving that sort of underground club effect. I wanted to play some jazzy chords, but wound up messing with the effects till it sounded like this. It basically changes back and forth between Fsus4 and C5, until the end when we play a D/F#, then a high B and D, before repeating.
Track 3, the bass, decribed below.
Track 2 is our drums, which basically
start with kick/snare, then a hihat comes in. Super simple. Track 3, which is pictured above, is our bass line. It like how this turned out, just back and forth between Db and Bb, with some passing tones. Super deep too, fills in the low end nicely.

Track 4 is the trumpet/synth
thing that comes in halfway through the 1st part of the song. It's a really staggered melody, but the harmonies turned out cool. The tone of this instrument is kinda cheesy, which I think made this song just a little goofier than it already was, but I kinda like silly midi songs haha.
Track 4, described above.
And last up, we have
Track 5, which is a synth string track. I wasn't really sure how much I loved the melody it plays, parts of it worked, but I dunno, this might be changed if I were to go back to this song. The break in the middle of the song I think DOESN'T work, but I haven't had any ideas of how to replace it, so I decided to include it to show the process of how some things just suck and don't work haha.

Hope you have enjoyed the walkthrough, this is kind of a goofy song, but I think it's kind of fun to give a bit of insight into song failures/cheeseball tunes. Haha anyway, enjoy!

Thanks for sharing this music
You're welcome!
Interesting to get to see the inside of the creative process. I totally can relate to the statement that you are not sure what it us going to be 😀.
Yeah I like to share stuff like this, just interesting to see how some stuff doesn't work itself into a full song.
