In September 1997 the album Homogenic was released. It marks a dramatic change in Bjork's vision, developed in its first two albums. She works with producers Mark Bell of LFO and Howie B, as well as with Eumir Deodato. Homogenic is Bjork's first conceptual album and is considered one of her most experimental and extracurricular projects, mostly because of its big beats that reflect the relief of Iceland. Most noteworthy is the song Jóga, which is a mix of vibrant saturation strings and rock-electronic rhythms. The emotionally rich album is also popular with a number of memorable music videos, some of which are broadcast extensively on MTV, especially the epic "Bachelorette", whose video is directed by Michel Gondry, and "All Is Full of Love" directed by Chris Cunningham and turned in an alternative rock hit in 1999. "All Is Full of Love" is the first DVD single ever released in the US, setting the scene for many artists to add DVD video and other multimedia extras to the singles they release. The album reached the US gold status in 2001, and in 2006 is already platinum. In 2000, Bjork played the role of Selma, a blind factory worker, a heroine from Lars von Trier's "Dancer in the Dark," and subsequently recorded the music for the film, entitled Selmasongs.
