🎸 Nineties Friday End Of Summer Picks! Five Tune Friday Vlog! 🎙️
It’s Thursday morning but I do the Closest To The Pin Contest every other Friday so I’m posting my Nineties Friday post a day early!
🎙️Nineties Friday Vlog 🎸
- Party Tunes
- Pop Punk Anthems
- Me Singing Offkey 🤣
This last week of August I’m picking 5 tunes that remind me of a late nineties movie party scene! Picking outta those kinda pop punk vibe catchy anthems! Summers almost over! Let’s party! I made one change after recording to stick to 1997-1999
Let’s Go!
Dammit was on the 1997 album “Dude Ranch” along with many soundtracks and party scenes in late nineties teen movie like Can’t Hardly Wait. A true soundtrack party tune!
Lit’s My Own Worst Enemy was one of the catchiest pop rock songs of the summer of 1999! The lyrics the melody, it’s a pure classic party soundtrack vibe!
Eve 6 song Inside Out was just getting huge regular play on MTV and alt rock radio early summer 1998. It’s that classic catchy summer rock hit! I literally remember being at a house of a friend who’s older brother had a bunch of friends over and them rocking out to it on MTV. Everybody was like who’s this band!
I’m making a change! I said I was picking Green Day but instead I’m going with Harvey Danger and there 1998 summer hit flagpole sitta! It was the same summer Eve 6 blew up and these two songs were everywhere! I worked at a day camp that summer at 14 years old and my friends sister would drive me home and I just remember these two songs playing almost daily on rock radio. This tune is clearly a summer party soundtrack hit! And hey there’s a party in the music video 🤣 a weird one but still a party!
Mighty Mighty Bosstones Impression That I Get is Just a classic upbeat tune that reminds me of summer and a clear song that was a soundtrack to many people’s 1997 high school and college kids summer adventures! this song makes me think of driving and summertime!
Ok for two Bonus picks I’m gonna pick two songs that are lesser known and more personal soundtrack tunes! From the same time frame 1997-1999.
First up it’s Beer from the band Reel Big Fish! I mean the songs called Beer 🍺 can there be any doubt it’s a party song!
Then we go MxPx the song Party My House, Be There. It’s not my favorite MxPx song but it clearly was written to be a single. They never got around to making a music video but I think t should have been at least a minor hit single!
Ok one more bonus! The song we played when the cops broke up the party! ⬇️
