It's a Cry'n Shame by The Gentlemen
One of my all time favorite Garage Rock Songs is It's a Cry'n Shame by The Gentlemen. Its rather fast, very strong in the rhythm section with the pounding drums, and a grate/great sounding fuzzy guitar that plays an awesome riff. The guitar break in the middle is killer too. The vocals are loud and strong.
The lyrics are sad. He loves her but she doesn't love him back.
Why do I love you when you don't love me?
I'll never forget you, and it's a cryin' shame!
It seems that the original demo for this record has surfaced. Originally recorded on acetate as a test, here we have the first demo test recording of It's a Cry'n Shame. Most of the elements of the final vinyl release are there. But the guitar solo is weaker and the overall production is not as good, as is to be expected.
But here it is, for your listening pleasure and comparison to the later actual released record.
