Funkitecht - Palm Drive (FREE 2 USE)
Today I am posting the track Palm Drive. I know I write "...it was the first..." quite a bit on these posts but to be honest, much of the music that I have been trying to create with this project are all firsts! O.o
Palm Drive was written as an experiment with synthesizer based modulators and arpeggiator's to get better understanding of how these particular types of plugins and in general how synthesizers can be manipulated to create a vast array of soundscapes.
The track has been one of my more complex songs as I was definitely out of my comfort zone for the most part. Electronic sounds are simple in theory but personally I find guitars and keyboards much easier to navigate XD
This image is of the synthesizer Serum, a powerful and highly unique digital VST plugin for DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation). Although this is not the one I used it helps give us a perspective as to how much one can access and manipulate the effects and soundscape of a single note let alone an entire keyboards worth!
The track starts with a pulsing electro-synth which had then been put through a digital rack of sound manipulating FX before I came to what we hear at the beginning, however, this is mostly to help push the track forward. I had imagined it being the pulse of the song whilst more groove based lines from the guitar would help glue together the beat and the synth.
The bridge of the track is where the "breakdown" of the song meets and accompanies the driving drum beat. The bass line I had written doesn't follow the drum beat throughout much of the song until this point where it begins to glue together all the parts more succinctly. By attempting this interplay of rhythms and note variance, I hoped to help give the song more depth and allow for different emotions to come through.
As always I hope you enjoyed this track and if you would like, please feel free to use for you purposes!
Cool synthesizer, might have to get me that lol
Thanks ozwald I have a friend who uses Serum and highly recommends it!
Thanks, followed and great Job!🙂
