Im a music Producer who Quit making music

Was it a mistake?

It felt like an impossible mission to even get noticed, as you can see from the statistics I have barely any listens /plays or followers.

Do i miss quality? I don't think so. Funny thing is I came from a Hardstyle / Hardcore background and my music productions sucked, yet over there I had thousands of followers and listens once I stepped into other genre's it was similar as going from a niche to an overcrowded saturated category where everyone is competing and trying to get as many followers.

Probably sticking with the small dutch niche would have brought me much more attention but I just couldnt handle that type of music any longer :) (probably has to do with growing up)

Will I regret this choice? maybe when in a couple of years.. Too soon to say.
I sold all my Hardware so I can't go back now (unless im willing to spend thousands of dollars again on purchasing all the items back that I had).

I liked, unlikable fucked up sounds

Probably one of my mistakes in making music is that I did it for myself, and my taste of music became very odd. coming from a rough Hardcore / Hardstyle background I started to experiement with Distorted sounds, overcompressed kicks and snares and I loved it. My friends? Not so much...

sometimes shit really hit the fan

I dont think i need words to describe it :)

Even for this one

I also had another side, but this was just boring to make

I know I could do it, if i sticked to it and kept the same category in music every single time, than I probably wouldn't have quit.
But making stuff like this is soo boring. I just couldnt do it, I wanted musical freedome and make the most horrible sound somewhat decent. It was like a challange, and I loved it.

Other than that, here are some tunes I made that probably would have gotten me somewhere in this industry, but I just didnt sticked to it .

But as you notice, the "good ones" for the mainstream listeneres were never finished. I just lost interest, too boring and moved on to something more challangeing, sadly something that nobody would ever listen to in his car o r on the radio. unless your a nutter like me :)

So I guess thats all for now, hope to get some feedback from other people, maybe other producers ? or just listereners who enjoy music.

Thanks for reading my Steem :)

I think some of this stuff was really good. Whats the point if you keep doing the bread and butter thing that everyone is doing?! Your peculiarity will set you apart.
If you add some nice vocal melody and lyrics to some of the arrangements I heard above, they can be really good productions.
Quitting is easy. But it depends on how you look at it. Sometimes what you probably need is a break and a fresh school of thought. And then start again.
I hope you consider this as a break and start producing again soon. :)
Also, I would love for you to listen to two if my band's songs with wacky stuff in it. You may not understand the language but I am sure you'll get the production. :D

Cheers!
