Synesthesia Review: Chizzy x Caesar Supreme - Collateral Damage
This'll be sure the whet the appetite of those patiently waiting on Connections III.
The Gated Community duo come together to deliver a fun filled 4 track EP that runs in under 15 minutes. It's filled with exactly what one would expect from Chizzy, incredible instrumental selection and catchy hooks. Then there's Caesar Supreme who comes through and delivers solid verses and surprisingly does exceptionally well on the hooks he's involved in.
There's no one track that stands head and shoulders above the rest, but if a stand out had to be chosen it would have to be Definitely. The duo are a little more cagier and aggressive over a hard hitting beat. The tracks are also sure to connect, pun intended, with many listeners as they have that turn up undertone to them, while also remaining toned down enough for you to actually catch the words.
They also don't milk the back-and-forth formula that most collaborative efforts have. It's none more evident than on closing track, Your Place, where instead of delivering a verse after Caesar Supreme, Chizzy instead performs what sounds like an outro after the hook. The sort of unpredictability is what most artists neglect when coming up with a project.
The Gated Community tandem do their team and brand proud on what's sure to be successful EP in anticipation of each of the two's upcoming projects.
