Fallen on a Black Day

How does one measure the impact another has had on their life? Through the deeds and actions that may have been inspired by that life led by another. Perhaps.

If I had been able to sing to enlighten I would have but I can’t so I listen.
If I could have bared my soul as my story unfolds I too would have written.
If I had the means to see to the needs of the many much would be given.

I could do none of these things to any measure of success. But I try.

I sing like no one is listening especially when trying to match those insanely powerful high notes as I drive along in my car.

I write what comes to me during the moment but mostly messages for money about things that I don’t really care about. Rarely does a personal passion make it to paper or verse but whenever I am blocked, I return for a retelling of the super unknown.

I have little, and even less to give, but I try where I can. Money is more versatile as it addresses many needs but it isn’t always the answer. Whenever someone struggles with a difficult task and I can help I offer, it can mean so much.

While I can’t say that you are the direct inspiration for my joy in music, my muse in the lyrical or my lead in paying it forward. What I can say is that you were in there somewhere. I can’t count how many important moments in my life that your words and music provided a background to.

Thank you, Chris Cornell, for all the music and memories. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten as your song shall play on.
