i am pretty sure it wouldnt. even with an electric where the acoustics play a lesser role, since alot of the sound is made by the pickups. and definitely not for a fully acoustic instrument, but ideal and possible are two very different things and sometimes it is fun to try and see what can be done with supoptimal materials. thats probabaly also why he did it.
