MUSIC AND ITS EFFECT ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Personally I define music as a production of sound made by musical instrument and sometimes vocals
Music which is a very broad course has effects on the listener and the environs as a whole
I want to explain the effect of music on the environment based on some of the different genres of music. Some of which include;
Blues
Gospel
Rap
Hip-Hop
R&B
Reggae

BLUES: Is a genre comprised of spirituals, soul songs, chants etc. The blues form, prevalent/ubiquitous in rhythm, rock and roll is characterized by the call-and response pattern. When listened to, burdens could be lifted up and the troubled soul will find peace. If this kind of music is played regularly in am environment, there will be no cause for fight or anger because the heart is already filled with peace and joy . Therefore Blues has a positive impact on its environment

Gospel: Gospel music is composed for many purposes including aesthetic pleasure, religious purpose and for entertainment. It is made up of vocals with Christian lyrics. Being highly anointed by God can change the spiritual atmosphere, the house we live in, when we play it. This has a great positively impact on the minds of individuals. Example a choir group

RAP: This genre of music makes use of fowl words and rhymes. It also portrays sexism, violence and other ill acts. This will affect the environment negatively such that the individuals will see it right to exhibit violence and dress indecently. An example of a rapper is Cardi B

HIP-HOP: Is also a musical genre similar to RAP, it comprises chanted rhyming speech, rapping, etc. The negative aspect on its environment is the violence, sexual advocacy and explicit lyrics broadcasted within the music which will influence the minds of individual to act in that manner. An example of a hip-hop singer is Negro

R&B: Rhythms and Blue is a genre of music tht makes use of piano, guitar(s), bass, drums, saxophone(s) and sometimes vocalists. Their lyrics is usually to encapsulate experience of pain and the quest to freedom and joy. The use of fluent English language in this musical genre helps the individual know the value of speaking good english. An example of a R&B singer is Weekend

REGGAE: The term"reggae" denotes a music style influenced by traditional mento. Reggae music promotes indecent dressing, use of street vernacular. Individuals in the environment are influenced by the dress code especially the mle keeping dreadlocks, even though such individual has no bad intention, the hair alone will give people impression that he is either an irresponsible person or a criminal. Example of a reggae singer is Bob Marley
