Music Challenge Day 4: A Song That Calms Me Down
Hi guys
It's been a while since I last put up the #MusicChallenge post, and I think that I should revisit it. So I'll be making the #MusicChallenge posts in between my regular posts, just like I used to.
This is my day 4 post, a song that calms me down, and it is pretty interesting. Music just has the ability to sustend or alter moods. It has the ability to stir up emotions, and at other times calm them. No matter the mood you are in, or want to set, there's always a song(s) for it.
To calm me down, there are a couple of songs that spring to mind. If I just want to calm down and let off some steam, there are a couple of choice songs that can help me do that, but it'll be a bit hard to narrow it down to one.
In this category, a couple of songs come to mind. There is
Labrinth's Jealous
End Sheeran's Parting Glass
Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World
Darey's Not The Girl
Little Big Town's Girl Crush
Asa's Bibanke
James Blunt's Goodbye My Lover
60% of Sam Smith's songs (especially Palace)
And there's Say Something by A Great Big World.
The list goes on...
But I'm supposed to choose one yeah?
OK. Among the song in this category, I can easily say that Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World will be my first 'go to song' if I ever need to calm down.
I mean, the song is the whole package. It's slow, rendered by a great voice, with simple but very beautiful rhymes, to give a very meaningful message. When the song is playing, I can't help but let my mind wonder about, visualizing the Wonderful World that Louise Armstrong was trying to paint.
When the song plays, I just lay back, and I see the tress of green, red tosses bloom, the blue skies and all the things he talked about, and I think to myself, What A Wonderful World!
I grew up listening to this song on a bunch of TV and radio commercials, but it still doesn't get old!
Wanna calm down? Well, here's Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World to help you do just that
And the lyrics
"What A Wonderful World"
I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying
"I love you"
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Than I'll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Oh yeah
