A very sad day for the music world. Kraftwerk founder Florian Schneider-Esleben is dead. According to his record company Sony, the pioneer of electronic music died of cancer a few days after his birthday. He became 73 years old.

In the legendary Kling-Klang-Studio (Düsseldorf, Germany), Florian Schneider-Esleben designed the electronic sound of Kraftwerk which was a great influence for musicians all over the world. Today's electronic pop and techno music seems unthinkable without his influence.

As big fans we are deeply saddened by this loss and at this point we would like to recall some of his greatest works, but with a very subjective selection.

First of all the pre-Kraftwerk project Organisation and a complete concert from the early days of the group recorded for the German TV-Show Rockpalast.

Organisation / Pre-Kraftwerk - Tone Float Full Album (1969)

Kraftwerk - Live Rockpalast 1970

Kraftwerk - Ruck Zuck (1970)

Kraftwerk - Ralf And Florian (Complete Album, 1973)

Kraftwerk - Autobahn (Full Version, 1974)

Kraftwerk - Radioaktivität (1975)

Kraftwerk - Spiegelsaal (1977)

Kraftwerk - Neonlicht (1978)

Kraftwerk - Computerwelt (1981)

Kraftwerk - Der Telefon Anruf (1986)

David Bowie and Brian Eno were also strongly influenced by Kraftwerk. In 1976 they wrote the song "V-2 Schneider", which is dedicated to Florian Schneider-Esleben.

David Bowie - V-2 Schneider (1976)

In 2015 Florian Schneider composed the track "" for the environmental organisation Parley for the Oceans. A great late work.

Florian Schneider - Stop Plastic Pollution (2015)

Have a good journey Florian, you have made a great difference in this world.
