Misty Waters 2018

Misty Waters is a three day music festival which focuses on bringing together epic people in the spirit of good ol’ rock and blues, South African folk and the contemporary electric sounds of indie and alternative rock music in an oasis of willows, lakes and lush lawns…

Main organiser Dian Rosslee said this year’s Misty successfully lived up to the vision of entrancing festival goers in the mysticism of the musical atmosphere. With a diverse crowd of silk skinned youth to silver foxes and foxettes, Misty Water’s atmosphere managed to enthral festival goers of all ages and backgrounds.

To recap the vibe, Dian describes: “As the sun set and the moonlight shimmered over the lake, the cold autumn nights gathered the ‘misties’ around blazing bonfires and cosy beer tents to take shelter during changeover of acts, all so that they could summon their energy and lure them to front stage with the first stroke of guitar strings.”
“Late mornings and early afternoons saw wanderers creeping back from their camps to refuel after a wild night as the first bands started to rock the stage.”

The fest boasted 30 epic acts, from the sweet reggae vibrations of Tidal Waves, to the guitar mastery of Dan Patlansky.

Feedback from misties included that of festival rookies who are uneducated in the genres that played who said they were blown away by the talents presented, as well as seasoned festies, amazed to see many of their favourite acts jammed together into one awesome weekend.
