NEW VIDEO for our new song "INVALID" // Arts and sports and the competition
We made and published a video for our song that's a part of a 4-track album / EP (we call it album, because it lasts around 40 minutes in whole :). It's a collaboration we did with a Croatian artist Vesna Mačković, who's a performance artist and approached us to do a couple of pieces that are themed around sports and competition.
I already wrote about it , so if you want you can read more about the project HERE.
The interesting thing about this album is that we deliberately challenged ourselves to revolve the whole thing around ONE harmonic theme. (you can hear it on the beginning of this song). I'm very proud that we managed to do a 20 minute song that was a soundtrack to her performance, and a featuring song with the artist that she was able to play on her own, as the two more original compositions.
YOU CAN LISTEN THE WHOLE ALBUM HERE.
The lyrics on the album are about cheering and sports, as well doing a parallel with art and the art-world. Mostly they're made from memorable nationalistic quotes and slogans. This one is very interesting tho'.
I'll try to translate the song for you :)
INVALID
(0:55)
Incredible, impossible to save.
Proudly with a sponsor.
Smaller when you jump
Faster when you stand.
(1:35)
(The ball is mine - faster - higher - harder)
(I can't do it anymore, I'm bleeding, I can't - faster faster faster)
(2:14)
(left - right - left - right - FORWARD)
eat a salad, drink a lemon, take some proteins,
become a muscle, become strenght
you can do it
even tho' you're bleeding
you can do it!
be the ball
be the GAME!
(2:44)
(i have to pee, please change my bag, I can't feel my legs, my vision is blurry.. I don't wanna do this anymore)
(2:52)
Proudly with a sponsor
The best always win
They get appraisal
A little pin, and a pen
Smaller when faster
Jump when you stand
(3:52)
All that we do is invalid
All that we seek is invalid (wise man...)
All that I love is invalid
Because everything is (what? what is everything?)
Invalid
Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy this song and video :)
According to a poll from the National Alliance for Youth Sports, around 70 percent of kids in the United States stop playing organized sports by the age of 13 because “it’s just not fun anymore.” I have three kids, all of whom play sports, and my oldest is about to turn 13. I may not have understood why this was happening a few years ago, but sadly, knowing what I know now, the mass exodus of 13-year-olds from organized sports makes perfect sense to me.
