5 day Tour! // DAY 1 & 2 - Belgrade, Pančevo // Acoustic football apocalypse // Part 1

in #music6 years ago

So we started our trip Wednesday pretty early. Picked up our car and packed in.
The trip to Belgrade went pretty smooth, as I described in the last post. :)

this is the way we rooooll!!

We arrived to the venue – which is called “Kvaka 22” (“Catch 22”), and noticed that they really upgraded the place. Everything looked nice and clean and open. They had just finished painting the walls, and it really opened up the space.
We met a couple of artists that are staying there for residency, and the place has become a must-see when you’re in Belgrade.

This time, the terrace was open, because they organized a screening of Pan’s Labyrinth – an amazing film by Guillermo del Toro. I was surprised of how many people showed up to the screening.

As planned, @bonvivan played an acoustic show. And a lot of people came to check it out. It was a really nice atmosphere, and we managed to see a lot of our friends (mostly musicians) and had a bunch of fun.
We traveled the same night to Pančevo – a city nearby where our @marinauzelac lived before she moved to Zagreb (well, technically we kidnapped her :D) – and we spent the night there chilling and resting.

here's a snip of the show

The next day we were resting the whole day in Pančevo. Marina’s house has a great fairy-tale vibe, and her family is a really warm and welcoming bunch. We were chilling and trying to contact the guy from Kovačica (where we were supposed to play that day), and just 3 hours before the concert he responded in panic because he thought the concert was supposed to happen next week, and not that day. :D

There was an option to go there and maybe play an unofficial acoustic concert, but we figured that it would be forcing it too much, and the guy didn’t even have a TV in the club, so we couldn’t watch the football match (Croatia – Argentina).

We were supposed to play a full show before the match, and then we would watch the match with the guests from the concerts (have in mind, we were in Serbia, and we’re Croatians :D) and afterwards (if we won – which we did) @bonvivan would play an acoustic show as a celebration.

The plan was awesome, but it couldn’t be done.

So we decided to chill in Pančevo, and watch the game at our friends house.
Croatia won, basically destroyed Argentina, and we were very very happy which led to a lot of drinking, etc. etc.

The next morning we woke up early and something was wrong.
The whole sky was dark and there was no sign of sun. We looked outside and saw a mini apocalypse happening.
The rain was literally pouring through the whole city, which caused a complete traffic collapse and made the whole city to shut down for maintenance. The streets were flooded so much that we couldn’t drive our car through it...
We were trapped…
The only way to get to the car was by taking our shoes off and running through the water, and we were supposed to be in Skopje (around 500 km away) until 5 P.M.

Will we make it?
Will we survive the elements?
What happens next?
Stay tuned for Part 2 ;)

Cheers <3
