There are many types of drum pads, depending on the ones you wish to construct, or depending on your purse/ wallet. The above picture is a DW Drum Pad. Pad constructed with a single stand,balancing the stand with three stand branch at the base just like normal cymbals and hi-hat, alternatively the stand.
But if you know you cant afford a pad as expensive as that, there are other ways to get through with it. Just talk to your carpenter to construct a pad for you. It will be very close to that but the stand will not be as beautiful and okay as that, unless the furniture maker wil polish it which he should to beautify. This is an example of a furniture pad:
It might not be as the first one but also up to the task till you can afford the good ones for practice. Rehearsal is the key to perfection in drums (if (perfection) there is at all).
