Showdown by World Beyond | Cinematic Orchestral Music from Winter Legend EP
As seemingly endless days of winter are coming to an end, nigh is the time of the final battle that will shake the mountain peaks and leave families mourning for perished husbands, brothers and fathers, for such is the price of power at all times. The beating of war drums can be heard as loudly now as if the war was right at your doorstep. In this final fight, there will be no victors, only survivors - so check your bow, sharpen your blade, and gear up for the Showdown.
As I'm continuing to post compositions from my Winter Legend EP, I feel like it is time to tell you a little about how it all began. Initially written to be sold as stock music, these orchestral pieces felt like they could be of interest to trailer music / soundtrack enthusiasts. Since all of them were inspired by the pieces of Two Steps From Hell, John Powell and most importantly Sergei Prokofiev as well as both Scandinavian and Slavic roots, it was decided to publish them as an EP on Bandcamp and other digital music stores online. With World Beyond being mostly a one man operation at the time, I relied on solely virtual orchestral instruments with this release and my job was to make it sound as close to the real thing as possible.
Now, it's not for me to judge whether I did well, but sometimes, when you get back to something you produced quite a while ago and you don't hate the sound of it, I consider it a win. Even better if you manage to enjoy it like something written by a different composer. So I hope you might enjoy it too.
