Yamaha vs. Casio: Which Digital Piano is better? Yamaha YDP 181 or Casio Privia? Opinion

in #music7 years ago (edited)

In this video I give you my honest opinion about the brands Yamaha and Casio. I've played on both Digital Pianos before, Yamaha Digital Piano YDP and the Casio Privia, also a Digital Piano.

I tried to make this video as entertaining as possible while giving you my reasons to choose one of these two brands. I studied Classical music and I was classically trained using acoustic pianos but for the past 10 years I've been using different Digital Pianos.

===My favorite Yamaha Digital Piano choices are the following:===

Hey Guys welcome to my channel my name is Angels
I’ve made this video for those of you at home who haven’t had the chance test out a Yamaha or a Casio and you’re thinking Which Piano, which Digital piano should I get, a Yamaha or a Casio Privia or one of their Digital Pianos.

I’ve been really lucky that I studied classical music for 10 years
I used Acoustic Pianos and then I was able to buy Digital Pianos and synths and of course, living in New York, I go to the music stores every weekend pretty much and I try out different stuff that they have.
And what I can tell you from my own experience, and I’m not being sponsored by any of the two brands, and brands you’re more than invited to send me Keyboards and I’m gonna review them but, what I can say is that in my experience, everytime I play a Yamaha Digital Piano and I actually own one, I have the Yamaha YDP 181, because I love it, I love the sound, if you try the Casio the keys are not…they are always a little bit lighter, and on top of that the sound you get is like the sample is thinner, the sound you get from the Casio is not as deep as the sound you get from the Yamaha. I’m trying to use words that we can all visualize in a way.
So if you’re trying to decide, which digital piano should I go for, even if it’s for you, or if it’s for your son, or daughter, or grandson or granddaughter, or a nephew, in my experience I would go for a Yamaha, even if it’s an older model.
Because Yamaha, even in the past 15 years has had great digital pianos.
I remember in my music school in Argentina we had clavinovas back then, I”m talking about 1998,1999, we had the Clavinovas and we were able to record in them, and it was really fun and they worked out beautifully. And we were able to play a Clavinova and right after that play a grand piano, and the difference was not a shock, it wasn’t like OMG, such a huge difference between this Digital Piano and the real thing. But if you go from a Casio to the real thing, yes, there is a difference.
There is a difference in touch, in feel, so from my experience, 10 years of classical piano training, going to music stores every weekend, trying different gear, new gear every weekend, what I can tell you is that I wouldn’t hesitate to go towards a Yamaha.

Guys, remember to check out the description area, I’ve included a couple of links from my favorite Yamaha Digital Pianos, that are available on amazon right now.
