My name is @Bentouch, and in the following series of **Music Theory**, I will show you all the hidden secrets of the music industry. 

From the origin of samples to the famous/infamous plagiarisms, you will discover the recipes of todays' music industry and figure out how to make a true hit.

# Concept:

As I already said on my #introduceyourself [post](https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@bentouch/first-post-i-got-to-take-it-easy), I am working on some projects for the French Television.

I am developing a TV show (Pilot in progress) where music can be analyzed in order to show the origins and inspirations of certain tracks. 

I will disclose crunchy little stories and a little technical matter ... 

 "Music Theory" series is making the reverse engineering of today's musical hits.

# Today's subject:

This episode deals with **my favorite French Dj’s** (performers).

I am not disclosing the name, becasue you will figure out very fast by listening to the samples below.

They are French, from Versailles, super famous and globally known, but nobody knows their faces..(youshould already have figures out ;-) ).

My goal is to show you howthey succeed in designing a worldwide hit from a vintage tune.

They used many ingredients in their final product, so let’s look at the recipe and let’s discover the hidden hit!

Don’t cheat, just follow the post step by step … and the magic will happen at the end of the show.

# The recipe:

### Step 1: Select the ingredients

Take a piece of funk (1979) : "More spell on you" by Eddy Jones.

Let’s have a look at the original wave-signal

Ok until then, nothing crazy

 ### Step 2: Prepare the ingredients

Just select and cut the sample carefully in order to obtain the following 3 parts (+ louder)

Let’s isolate this part now:

And assign it numbers from [1] to [3].

### Step 3: Cook the ingredients, assemble them

The recipe is almost done

Take your musical pan and heat it until sizzling...

add in this order the previously prepared ingredients: 

**1Ts of Sample1 and  3Ts of sample 2... and let’s finish by adding 4Ts of sample3.**

Shake it hard... in a shaker not with a spoon.

### Step 4: Serve hot, and LOUD.

Here's the final result:

The answer to the initial question is therefore very obvious now.
