About the audio/visual release to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the label Crazy Language and the obstacles coming with it.

Hi all readers, listeners and viewers!

Most of you might not know the label Crazy Language - a label for contemporary experimental electronic music and visuals. But that does not matter as it is a small label concentrating more on the output then promotion. Too much is going on to keep track of everything and a lot of new releases or labels see the light every day.

Crazy Language

In 2016 we could celebrate 10 years existence of the label and we planed to deliver something special - an audio/visual compilation of artists which have already released on the label as well as friends and well respected artists on our wish list. Of course it could have been a huge compilation but we tried to keep it clear while covering different styles of experimental electronic music. All 31 tracks are audio-reactive visualized by LASAL who is a virtuoso when it comes to create visuals or interactive installations with the software vvvv.

BUT it was not easy to publish the compilation, particularly the videos. As we always aim for good to best quality, the videos created with the music come with full-HD with high bit rate which was problematic to achieve with the codecs available at this time on Youtube or Vimeo. Unfortunately the result was not satisfying so we decided to release only the audio release on Bandcamp in December 2016, including a text file with download links to the privately uploaded videos on Vimeo.

The release was ready since late summer 2016 and the only reason not to publish was the video codec situation. This was not how we wanted to present the release - but we had to find a compromise. That way you could at least download the videos and enjoy watching in best quality (if you had enough free space on your hard drive as the whole release is ca. 44 GB).

To find a solution we got in touch with the Vimeo support since we think that's the better platform to present such a work.
Fortunately they offered help by manually encoding all the videos which took a while to get done. Big thanks to Dana and Zena from Vimeo who helped us with that!

Meanwhile we have added all videos to the blockchain using DTube. You can also check my other posts here on Steemit and find the links to the single video tracks.

So, finally we can now say that the whole a/v release is officially published!
You can watch all videos online by visiting our Vimeo account but i recommend to download everything for the best performance because the online versions are compromises between quality and usability.

Therefor we have created a portfolio site on Vimeo to have all together at one place.

You can download all the videos for free as well as the audio files from Bandcamp - the release is under creative commons license by-nc-nd.

Of course you can always show your love or support by donating for that on Bandcamp and/or upvoting/sharing this post.

Hope you enjoy and can give some feedback : )
