Bands I really Loved: Collective Soul.

Ed Roland recorded Shine with some Friends as a Demo , Someone picked it up , Radio Stations started playing it ! The time was ripe for the formation of " Collective Soul"This happened about 1994

When I first heard Collective Soul, Like INXS before them, I just loved what they did, Ed Roland's understanding of how to write a song that would make an impact , was spot on.

Nice almost sweet Verse's with devastating Riffs in the Chorus, What more could a Music Fan want?

I may have used this before ?, but " It's the Singer not the Song!" is the biggest Lie ever told ( or imagined by some Dimwit in the Music Industry) .

Bob Dylan is certainly not even average as a Singer, but Man, he could write a song! So many much better singers have had hits with his song's!

Grant F , The Guitarist from "Sandbox" and I headed for Sun City when we heard that they were coming to perform there!

The Best Live Show we had seen up to then! ( not sure if I have seen Better?) March 10th 2001.

At the end of this Fantastic Show He says , I believe here in South Africa , you have never seen one of my Favourite Bands?, AC/DC!

They then proceeded to play a few of their numbers for us, really well , Wow.

Best of All , They are still Rocking today!

They came again years ago in Pretoria as one of the Support Acts for Metallica! Guess who I went to see?, and I was not disappointed at all!

They have so many Good Numbers and a whole bunch of outstanding Ballads.

Anyhow , I will leave you with the thought that they would be well worth seeing live! and at least hunt around for more music!

For your listening and watching pleasure here is their stint at the Woodstock Concert in 1999, No need to thank me?

Enjoy!

the post is very good and I really like @awgbibb

Strangely enough?, I like him too!

Love live music. Your talent makes the music...NO gimmicks and techno enhancements!!

True that!

Ah I could listen to their music all day.....even if it's not them performing it. Lol

You do have your reasons!

My dad used to make me listen to Collective Soul everyday. Johnny Rabb is a killer drummer!

Certainly is! Wish My Dad had punished me like that!

Such a good post. I really liked it.
Thanks for sharing.

A unique collection of music artists and bands, it was especially pleasant to listen to the guitarist of the "Sandbox". Thank you @awgbibb
