Dual Guitar Rock Bands.

in #music5 years ago

Always had a fascination with twin lead guitar setups, particularly when I first heard Thin Lizzy.

Wishbone Ash were a UK Band that toured South Africa , many years ago, I met them jamming a few years ago at TOMS Music Shop in Rivonia ( looking much Older)

Found this recently.

Baxtop were a South African Twin Guitar setup in the 70's , went to see them at a local club.

First time I had ever seen Ibanez Artist Guitars ,

up to then they were copies of other Brands!

I have owned several of them, Great Well Made Guitars

The Bass Version was called a Musician , very heavy , but don't stand back for anything!

My Son, Wayne has all 3 Models of the Bass.

This is Baxtop in a Reunion Gig in 1999 at the Blues Room.

Earlier , I mentioned Wishbone Ash , Searching , I found this 1973 Video of them performing live.

Great Band!

I trust you will enjoy this?, My friends.

I think the most amazing part of this post is not just the dual guitar bands themselves but the fact that you persevered and found live video of them - In a very real way you are preserving bits of musical history that would otherwise be lost

Rocking performances

Well I am not sure if they are known over there, but here when I think of dual guitars I think of the good old boys from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Of course their band experienced tragedy from a plane crash. Yet they still left behind a bunch of good music IMO.

Shortly before that Plane Crash , they picked a fight with some Guys in the Hotel Bar in London where they were staying , unfortunately their opponents were the Metropolitan Police Boxing Team?

Well they were no strangers to being arrested for being a bit rough and rowdy. Of course some of the band lived and continued on. Ronnie Van Zant, the singer, perished at age 29. Gone too soon, but left a lot of great tunes.

Back in those days we lost so many talented people to plane crashes! It is staggering if you think about it.

@awgbibb,
Honestly I didn't watch those videos yet! But hope to watch them! Thank you!

Cheers~

Their effort and passion for the guitar make them a legend, true and authentic base guitarist.
