The 1980s was the golden age of hard rock and heavy metal, and the thick tones of Jeff Beck, Kirk Hammett, Mick Mars and Jeff Hanneman were made possible by none other than the Marshall JCM800. The amp remained popular through the 1990s grunge and punk revival eras, with guitarists such as Tom Morello and Slash continuing to burst eardrums through a Marshall stack.
