Music Monday 1 SBD Giveaway ~your favorite songs~
You don‘t need to be a musician to love music. You don‘t have to be a good singer to sing. You don‘t have to be a good dancer to feel the rhythm and dance. Music is almost everywhere. You hear music at the shopping mall even in most of the grocery stores. There’s music at you favorite restaurant and at the hairdresser.
Each one of us, well the most I guess, have special songs. I want to get to know you guys better and this is why I decided to start this little contest - let’s see where this is going...
Every Monday (I know it’s not Monday today but I couldn’t wait until Monday to get this started) is Music Monday with a certain theme. This could be anything from a certain feeling to special events. The theme will be announced on the Music Monday post for the following week. Out of all submissions I will conscientiously pick one song and present this one on the Music Monday post. The person who suggested the winning song receives 1 SBD from me. If the song has been mentioned twice or multiple times, the 1 SBD goes to the person who mentioned it first (so you want to make sure your song hasn‘t been picked bevor, and if so, maybe better find another one).
Here are the conditions to enter the contest: *
- Upvote this post
- Put your song (interpreter + songname) in the comments and explain a little why this is your special song.
- Only one submission per person
I close the contest every Monday on 10:00 am (GMT+1).
So the theme for this very first week (although it’s only 4 days this time) is:
~Childhood Memories~
Cheers

First I want to say this contest is amazing and I'm glad you found my post and commented and I give you a follow and definitely will be uploading
Its your song by garth brooks
It's off the Garth Brooks live CD it's actually a song that Garth Brooks only does at his concerts and it is a song that he sings for his mom. It's a really beautiful song and breaks down a little bit in the song at the end of the song and it gets me every time. I remember growing up we listen to a lot of Garth Brooks my both my sisters and I with my parents. One outstanding memory of this song it was a reoccurring thing that my sister was in Judo and we used to listen to the Garth Brooks live CD on the way there every time. We always make sure we listen to that one particular song for sure. It kind of became my older sister song when she passed away from leukemia. It's not a very easy song to find unless you have that CD however that song really touches me everytime I hear it because it brings back memories of my sister and the times that we had on our way to Judo. I chose this song even though most people probably won't know it because it is the most special song to me.
Thank you so much for entering. This is exactly the reason I wanted to run this giveaway.
I‘ve never heard of that song but I will try to find it to listen to it. I can totally see how much of a meaning this song must have to you! Wonderful memories and still connected to a painful memory. You story brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so mich for sharing it.
Elton John - Circle of Life
From the Disney movie: The Lion King
The Lion King was the most favorite movie in my childhood. To be honest it probably still is! This movie is so sad and awesome at the same time. When I hear this song I still get goosebumps. I love the song so much I could hear it the whole day, because not only is it awesome itself, it also gives me old memories :)
Nice contest, I hope a lot of people take part in it and show us their favorite childhood songs.
Thanks for your submission. Your entry is valid.
A very wonderful song and a great movie, I agree!
You're so nice for commenting on this post. For that, I gave you a vote!
Mine has to be Sweet Child of Mine by Guns and Roses. It even has 'childhood memories' in the lyrics. Slash was my hero and the reason I first picked up a guitar. Playing guitar and being in bands has been a massive part of my life ever since then and without this song and this band my life would be hugely different.
Roger Davies and His Band - live at The Great British Folk Festival 2017 (me on bass)
Thank you very much for participating. I like Guns and Roses. And thanks for sharing this picture.
I saw guns in roses in stl in 2017. First time they were There since the riverport riot. Love them
Right away I thought of a cute Girl I just met at a summer cottage on the St.laurence river when I was a Teen. She invited me over to listen to some new music. I had never heard of it before, and it was very good. And so was she. :-)
" Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody "
is a song still popular today :-)
Great pick! Thanks for your entry!
FUN - Spongebob Squarepants
I used to watch Spongebob practically every day growing up with my younger brother.
It's a beautiful song in which Spongebob shows the otherwhise evil Plankton what friendship truly means. Simple and wonderful.
I think these little songs from Spongebob define many peoples childhood to a certain degree. So yeah, definitely this one.
Your entry made me smile because every now and then this song is stuck in my head (even today) and I feel like singing it. My younger sister loved spongebob.
Thank you for bringing back my own childhood memories :)
