That Elvis Presley actually died?
On August 16, 1977 Elvis Presley was found dead in his mansion in Memphis, Tenn. Since that day, and until today, a multitude of theories have emerged about the true causes of the death of the 'King of Rock'. Today I will tell you some of the most talked about, including the one that says that in reality ... it has not died.
Death
On August 16, 1977, Elvis had scheduled a flight to start a new tour, but his then girlfriend, Ginger Alden, found him unconscious in the bathroom of his mansion, Graceland. Eyewitnesses claimed that 'The King' was on the floor, "frozen" in a position as if he had been sitting, with his torso leaning forward, and without showing signs of life.
A biographer speculates that he must have had an attack while using the toilet, tried to sit up, threw the book he was reading and fell into a fetal position, and as he could not breathe, died in the place. Elvis' body was transferred to Baptist Memorial Hospital, where unsuccessful attempts were made to revive him. At 3:30 in the afternoon, he was officially declared dead.
The official version
Hours after his death, Presley's body was subjected to an autopsy. Three days later, "Colonel" Tom Parker representative of Presley made public the death certificate where it was said that the cause of death had been "a hypertensive cardiovascular disease and an atherosclerotic heart disease".
In other words, the first official version was that 'The King' died due to an arrhythmia or a heart attack.
The toxicological analyzes
Much has been said about the use and abuse that, since he divorced Priscilla, Elvis made opioids such as codeine and demerol. At the time of his death, Presley suffered from hair loss, high blood pressure, liver damage and colon disease. In addition, it is speculated that the use of drugs caused constipation problems.
Two months after his death it was revealed that the toxicological studies performed on Elvis found traces of 14 substances in his system, including codeine in a quantity 10 times higher than the therapeutic-, methaqualone, morphine, meperidine, ethylchlorovinol, diazepam and various barbiturates.
Despite this, the official version was held that a "cardiac arrhythmia" had ended Presley's life.
The concealment
In an attempt to keep the image of the idol intact, various media and biographers say that his manager and the family, in collusion with the doctors, carried out a series of actions to cover up the real ones.
Causes of his death.
For example, it is ensured that the remains of his stomach were destroyed before being analyzed, that no police investigation was ever conducted and that all drugs and medications were surreptitiously extracted from Graceland. Another fact that draws attention was that dr. Jerry Francisco stated that the cause of death had been an arrhythmia ... before the toxicological analysis was performed and the autopsy was concluded. On the other hand it is known that, in the first seven months of 1977, the head doctor of the 'King', Dr. George Nichopoulas
known as "Dr. Nick ", had extended more than 10 thousand doses of
sedatives, amphetamines and narcotics in the name of Elvis Presley.
The file reopened
In 1994, the medical file was reopened, only to come to the same conclusion: that Elvis Presley had died of a "violent and sudden heart attack". However, it was not ruled out that the intensive use of drugs contributed significantly to the fatal outcome.
Died from constipation
This strange theory was proposed, each by his side, the biographer Frank Coffey and Dr. Dan Warlick. According to them, Elvis suffered from chronic constipation or constipation as a result of the use of drugs. Therefore, he may have been the victim of a phenomenon called "Valsalva Effect", which consists of a cardiac arrest caused by the effort. In crude words, 'The King' would have died because, in his attempts to achieve defecation, he compressed the abdominal aorta artery, thus causing the cessation of heart functions.
Elvis never died
Finally, this is the well-worn theory that Elvis never died or, at least, he did not die in 1977 and that it was all a masquerade to hide his withdrawal from the world of entertainment, which was ending little by little.
little with his life. Among other arguments, those who believe in this conspiracy theory maintain that Elvis has been seen in different parts of the world obviously, disguising his identity, that there are important discrepancies in his death certificate, that his headstone reflects a name that was not his Elvis Aaron Presley, and not Aron and that, supposedly, a wax mannequin was the one who occupied the coffin in which he was buried.
Apparently, while there are fans and suspicious followers of their history, the legend of 'King' Elvis Presley will be a story that will never end.
