Poltava Museum Of Art - Nikolai Yaroshenko Art Gallery
Hello steemian friends all ...!
on this occasion I would like to talk about the art museum located abroad namely Poltava Museum of Art.
The idea of opening a museum in Poltava, where world and national art achievements can be presented, emerged in the early 20th century. This was facilitated by a transfer to Zemstvo Poltava from the Wanderer Nikolai Yaroshenko collection.
This collection was received at Poltava in late November 1917. However, the Poltava Zemstvo Council was not in time to fulfill its obligations to open the museum, so the collection remained in the front room of the Gogol Education House which was dismantled for a year and a half. It was relatively safe at a time when thousands of world cultural works died every day in Civil War fires.
Save at least part of this treasure called "Committee for the protection of art, art and natural monuments in Poltava." Members of the committee visited the prince Repnin estate in Yahotyn, where, in addition to painting, stored precious library. In the suburbs of Poltava, works by artists Grigory Myasoyedov and Ivan Myasoyedov were discovered. Hundreds of objects were taken from the famous Kochubei Palace in Dikanka. Field trips were also conducted in the name of Galaganov in Sokirintsy, Kapnists in Obukhovka, Gogol-Yanovsky in Vasilevka.
Thus, future museum collections are formed. The painstaking scientific and organizational work on the museum's design ends with its discovery, which took place on 27 April 1919. The exposition of the art gallery was placed in a building built in 1912 by architect Pavel Alyoshin.
The collection has its first major work, "The Holy Family" Carlo Maratta, "Flights to Egypt" by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, "Portrait of Elizabeth of Bohemia" Michelel van Mirevelta, "Mary Magdalene" Pedro Anastasio Bocanegra, "clogged rabbit" John Weenix seven genre scene Jan Josef Horemansa, of which mainly noted two pictures in pairs - "To complement smallpox" and "contention on the card", paintings by Melchior de Hondecoeter, three Venetian landscapes by Francesco Guardi, portrait brush Peter I Nicolas de Largillière.
But the basic museum, the foundation, is a collection of paintings by Nicholas Yaroshenko. In 1919, it included 100 paintings, 23 albums working with pictures, 4 statues of Nicholas Yaroshenko and an important collection of the works of his Wanderers colleagues.
With a large collection of paintings by NA Yaroshenko, Poltava museum does not lose even to the Tretyakov Gallery. His collections are like famous works by artists as "Nevsky Prospects at night," "unknown reason", "Dreamer", "summer", "In the Caucasus Mountains", "Among the Clouds", "Girl with toys" , "Judas", "Portrait of Mikhail Mikhailovsky."
Also included in the collection is the work of brilliant painter Ivan Myasoedov. During the Second World War, the loss of the museum proved enormous. Send back is only part of the inventory meeting. The exposition in full volume fell into the hands of the invaders. The fate of precious paintings is still unknown.
After recovering activities on the basis of 4176 exhibits returned in 1945 on evacuation, the Poltava Art Museum focuses on refueling. Artwork is from Moscow, Kiev, from individuals and government agencies.
Today Poltava Art Museum, Nikolai Yaroshenko - examples of the successful implementation of the international experience of building museums and the transformation of museum space into the integrated Art area. Poltava residents consider it a guest card in his town.
