Steemotion Contest! - Songs of Sadness
The format for Emotion Integration is changing! I've decided to split the 2-hour live radio stream into two segments. The first hour will pretty much be business as usual - I'll present topics from Dynamic Emotional Integration® for learning and discussion.
In the second hour, I'd like to focus on bringing the creative work of fellow steemians to the show to share. Being that my show is about emotions, that will be the focus of the creative content I'm looking for. The best way I thought to make this happen is by offering a contest!
Here's how it will work:
- Each time I run the contest I will provide a topic around emotions, empathy, etc.
- The call for submissions will have a deadline, and prizes will be offered.
- If you submit a piece, you agree to let me share it (with links to your original post) during the show.
- I will announce winners during the show, and award prizes then or soon after.
- Winners will be judged not only on quality, but also on how well they represent the topic.
What to submit:
- Original work (by you) expressing the topic
- Creative work of any form will be accepted (audio, visual, literary, etc.)
How to submit:
- Post your piece on your blog, with a link back to this contest
- Post a link to your blogpost in the comments of this post.
- Limit to 3 entries per person.
So, without further ado, the topic for this first round is...
~ SADNESS ~
In DEI, Sadness is the emotion that helps us let go of things. It arises to let us know that something isn't working, and it gently urges us to move on and let our tears wash that something out of our lives. Sadness is the emotion that flows and helps keep us from being overwhelmed. If you really let yourself feel into the emotion of Sadness, you will find its beauty to be gentle, wise, and healing.

What a turkey I have dropped it in now , you may or may not like to know after listening to this I listened to some other songs and it put me on a bit of a downer , so sadness was achieved !!

I was unexpectedly surprised yesterday to find out that I came 2nd at this contest!!!!!! It's a great motivation to keep trying for more quality creations, regarding that I don't remember when it was the last time when I won in a contest or had my music appreciated. Thank you! You actually came in at 1 1/2 place! I had commented on your post, but my internet wasn't working the other day, and apparently a lot of the comments I made never actually went through. Anyhow. I'll post a recording soon if you want to listen, but yours was my top pick of the bunch, although there were a few others who I felt were too close of a second, so I rearranged the winnings a bit to better reflect that. Anyhow, yes! A lot of folks really liked your piece, and I know @soundwavesphoton def wants to work with you on collabs. So keep up the good work, yourself!

Must the song be self compose
It has to be a song you have written, yes. Either lyrics or music, or both. A collaboration with someone else is acceptable and the prize would be split between you. (They have to agree!)

Hmm..I hadn't thought about that. Good question! I think this round, I'll say 3 entries is the limit. I might change that going forward.
