Looking on the Bright Side Towards a Great Future

in #msp-waves6 years ago

MSP Waves is all about looking on the bright side of things. When Dlive left the platform, we lost the streaming service we used every day to bring you live content from dozens of Steemians. Before we could even react to this news, in came @vimm to the rescue.

What is Vimm?

Vimm is a service built for Steem with the mission to provide the best live streaming service possible. It is important to remember the service is still in the alpha stage of production, but even that hasn't stopped our station from successfully streaming for over 4 weeks 24/7 with only minor (announced) interruptions while @chiren upgraded to faster and better servers.

What makes Vimm Great?

Live streaming comes with its own set of peculiar challenges, and those will vary depending on what you're actually trying to achieve. If interaction with your audience is important for your stream like it is for us here at MSP Waves, then you're going to love Vimm's lightning-fast latency that will have your audience reacting to subjects while they're still relevant. They've managed to even exceed giants like Twitch in this regard, as we have observed a difference of up to 10 secs between the two.

Even if you don't care about latency, Vimm's got everything a streamer needs. Their constantly improving interface makes it easy to host a stream or reward your favorite streamers. If you have visited mspwaves.com/listen recently, you may have noticed that Vimm has replaced the video feed with their easy to use embed feature. No more twitch, no more ads! You may also like their auto posting feature, allowing you to inform your audience throughout your stream. If live streaming is what you want, Vimm has got you covered. It is important to note that while there are plans to implement recording, it is not available at this time, so be sure and record locally as you stream if you want to post it later on dtube.

Ways to Support MSP Waves on Vimm

In addition to the obvious ways like upvotes, Vimm gives you the ability to host another channel or channels while you are not live. MSP Waves is a perfect match for this feature, as your audience will always have something to tune into in anticipation of your next stream. Just enable hosting in the settings, and add msp-waves to your list, it's that easy.

Would you like to support MSP Waves and get some cool music for your streams? For instance, if you are showing off your latest deck in battle on Steem Monsters and you want a ready made playlist to go along with it, you can pull up SteeMix in a new tab and play some great music made by Steemians in the background while you battle for the leaderboards. You can also request all your favorite songs and build a custom playlist just for the stream. With over 30 hrs of music, there's a lot of ways to please your audience. See this post if you want to learn more about the SteeMix.

Thanks to @chiren and the great team behind https://vimm.tv, the gray cloud that was left by Dlive had a big silver lining. Be sure and check them out, and if you like what they're doing, consider supporting their fundition campaign.

Though I came across some Vimm posts recently but could not take a detailed look of this Dlive replacement. Someone @asif.bokhari joined Steemit through me and is very active at YouTube through his channel. Can he post those videos here at Vimm or it's just for live streaming? Please guide.

Thank You @msp-waves for this detailed review of Vimm. I've resteemed this post so that my folloeers could also read it.

Perhaps you missed this part:

It is important to note that while there are plans to implement recording, it is not available at this time, so be sure and record locally as you stream if you want to post it later on dtube.

Hope this helps!
