The opening scene accompanied by cheerful music. The head of a large corporation (Tilda Swinton) tells the whole world that a new breed of pigs was selected. But first, each “super-piglet” should be tested, so 26 pigs are sent to 26 farmers around the world. The animals will be grown for 10 years and constantly take measures of their growth and development.

10 years passed and we see a young girl Mija (An Seo Hyun). She and her grandfather take care of a super-piglet Okja in the remote mountains of South Korea. We immediately see how close the girl and her ward.

But soon Okja will be taken away from Mija and adventures begin.

Tilda Swinton is amazing in her role as a bitch-psychotic. In any situation, she plays out in such a way as to stay in the win and put the company on a new role - the supplier of eco-products and savior of global hunger danger. She takes any chance to be popular, to make TV talk about her person. She plays along to the girl in order to make a TV show.

The whole film is a caricature of our world. When the pig escapes through the shopping center, a crazy girl runs and films everything that happens for Instagram. After all, we know perfectly well that in our world of cell phones and social networks, when a disaster occurs, we immediately get the phone and start shooting the video.

Dialogues are terrific - funny, but at the same time they are tragic. Listening to them, only a sad smile appears on your lips. All the heroes of this drama want fame, everyone does not really care about Okja. Only little girl wants to return her mumps, because she loves her.

A bright picture, cheerful music give the picture even more tragedy and depressiveness.

In my opinion, the director wants to show that the value of life of an animal is the same as that of a human being. Okja understands everything, but does not speak. Can I eat it? Is the transition to vegetarianism the next step in the progress of humanity?

However, he also shows us that we are not ready to change. Salvation Okja did not make the world change. The girl and Okja find freedom, while the other super-piglets are doomed to death.

A little girl is personification of innocence and kindness in this harsh world. But she's all by herself. Nobody can help her.
She is the light at the end of the tunnel.
