Prime Trailer 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'
Okay, we already know that the big event will be when Godzilla fights against King Kong in Godzilla vs. Kong . But that does not mean Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be just a warm-up. If the newly released first trailer can be used as an indication, then this film will be the ultimate Hollywood monster movie ever. At least, so far.
For those who have problems with the movie Godzilla (2014) for too little showing the monster in action, this time not to worry. Godzilla will be faced with, not just one or two, but three legendary Kaiju monsters imported directly from Japan. They are a gong moth named Mothra, a giant pterodactyl named Rodan, and a three-headed dragon known as the mortal enemy of Godzilla, King Ghidora.
All these monsters were already in the earth long before humans existed. Or so it is said by a scientist played by Vera Farmiga . "They are on duty to fight the 'infection' that is happening on earth," said Farmiga while we are shown with various natural disasters that make Millie Bobby Brown anxious. "If they are not found, the planet will be destroyed, so will we."
A statement that is actually counterproductive. Because, we can see for ourselves how the existence of one monster alone has brought various kinds of catastrophe. Moreover four monsters. However, of course we watch the movie because it wants to see the earth ravaged by these monsters, is not it?
The film is the third film of Warner Bros. 's MonsterVerse franchise that begins with Godzilla Gareth Edwards , then continues with Kong: Skull Island is Jordan Vogt-Roberts . At its peak, the two iconic monsters will be reunited in Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020. But how the mechanism of their meeting remains a mystery, given its much different timeline.
Joining Kyle Chandler, Thomas Middleditch, Ken Watanabe , and O'Shea Jackson Jr. are returning as members of a secret organization called "Monarch" who seem to be intent on finding ways to control the monsters. Sitting in the director's chair is Michael Dougherty who once worked on Krampus .
