The Spain Square used in Attack of the Clones

Spain Square was designed by Aníbal González in 1928. It was built for the Ibero-American Expo happening the year after. The purpose of the exposition was to improve relations between Spain and the countries in attendance. This Exposition took the city of Seville 19 years in the making, and completely changed the overall image of the city even to this day with its huge amount of new construction made.

Although it can be seen in a mere 48 seconds of Episode II's runtime, you can see much more of the location in the deleted scene Extended Arrival on Naboo. It's always advisable to bring along printed screencaps from the film, though even without them, you'll find it very easy to line up the original shots. In the center of the plaza there is a rectangular structure that is flanked by two ornate footbridges. Anakin, Padme and a digital R2-D2 cross a bridge that is to the right (to the south) of the central structure. In the next shot, our heroes are walking along a curved hallway that is open to the right. This was shot to the left (to the north) of the central structure.

You can love the film, hate it, but you can't deny this location decision was on point! What do you think about this place? What is your favorite Star Wars movie in the whole series? (Mine is Rogue One). If you like the post, upvote! What would you like to see next?
