National Treasure
Indiana Jones in the city.
The plot is decent, the action good, and Nicholas Cage does a very good job. Therefore not sure why it didn't rate well by the critics? Mind you I take any critics review as a rough indication on the quality of the movie as they don't always get things right.
If you like Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider you should enjoy this even though you already know that the good guys are going to win. I even wouldn't have minded spending the ticket price to see it in the cinema.
Our treasure hunter is Benjamin Gates, his father was a treasure hunter as well as his grandfather. His father has gone off treasure hunting as he lost 20 years chasing one particular treasure without success. It was the "national treasure". The latest clue points to the "Declaration of Independence" as containing the next piece of the puzzle.
It happens that they aren't the only ones looking for the treasure, the bad guys have also learnt that the Declaration contains a clue and they are going to steal it. Benjamin tries to warn the FBI, but the FBI don't believe him. Therefore Benjamin and his friends steal the Declaration, which of course brings in the FBI.
Now the race is one to beat the bad guys, while staying out of prison by also staying ahead of the FBI. Let the action and puzzle solving begin.
