Poetic Television Review: Salvage (The Expanse, S1X08, 2016)
In the depths of space, a tale unfolds,
Of mystery and strife, of lives grown cold.
The Expanse, a world of wonder and might,
Where humanity's fate hangs in the balance of night.
Salvage, an episode of convergence and fate,
Weaves together threads of a complex state.
Miller's quest for truth, a journey so bold,
Leads him to Eros, where violence never grows old.
The Rocinante's crew, with hearts full of fire,
Discover Anubis, a ship with secrets to acquire.
A biological entity, malevolent and dark,
Forces them to flee, with lives left to embark.
The Blue Falcon Hotel, a scene of despair,
Where Julie Mao's corpse lies, with fungal growth to share.
Miller's intervention saves the crew from harm,
But the tragedy is done, the damage is warm.
The Expanse confronts us with harsh realities' sting,
A universe unforgiving, where life is but a thing.
Miller's sacrifice, a testament to his will,
A relatable hero, in a world that's hard to fulfill.
Action sequences intense, suspenseful and grand,
The shootout in Blue Falcon Hotel leaves us breathless in hand.
Anubis' ghost ship scenes masterfully directed and told,
Atmospheric tension builds suspense young and old.
Salvage delivers on its promise so fine and true,
Converging storylines enrich character arcs anew.
Mysteries expand upon existing ones so dark and deep within The Expanse we yearn for more revelations yet unseen
As Season 1 unfolds like intricate tapestry ever expanding still we eagerly await what lies ahead.
