Poetic Film Review: The Majestic (2001)

In Hollywood's dark and shameful past,
McCarthyism's shadow cast,
"The Majestic" dares to explore,
The pain and fear it did implore.

Jim Carrey shines in serious role,
A tale of loss and finding whole,
Small town charm and patriotic pride,
In 1950s America, they confide.

Darabont's ambition, a noble cause,
To remind of freedom's flaws,
But critics found the sentiment too much,
The film's pacing out of touch.

Yet the love for country and cinema shines,
In this tale of troubled times,
"The Majestic" may not be perfect, it's true,
But in its heart, a message rings true.
