Poetic Film Review: Pendulum (2001)

In the heart of Dallas, a detective roams,
A tough and hard-working woman named Amanda Reeve,
Investigating a murder in her city's darkened streets,
With a past lover and a political ambition that deceives.

Rachel Hunter takes on the role with grace,
But her New Zealand accent lingers in the Texan air,
As she delves into a case with a twisted face,
Of lust, power, and deceit that's unfair.

With a low budget and a complicated script,
Pendulum tries to stand out in the thriller crowd,
But falls short with gratuitous violence that's stripped,
Of the guilty pleasure allure, leaving the audience unsound.

A film with potential that never quite shines,
Obscure in its own right, a forgotten gem,
Pendulum lingers in the shadows of time,
With a rating of 3/10, a missed opportunity for them.
