Poetic Film Review: Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009)

In times of woe, when economies fell,
A film was released, its timing to tell,
Confessions of a Shopaholic, a comedy so bright,
Yet, its focus on excess, felt like a cruel sight.

Addicted to shopping, in a world of spree,

A problematic portrayal, of financial fear,
The US debt, a parallel, to Rebecca's plight,
A remark, once passing, now a haunting sight.

The implications, of financial irresponsibility,
Manifest in decay, unrest, and geopolitical instability,
The film, once a comedy, now a wince-inducing tale,
A reminder, of the dangers, of excess and fail.

So let this be a lesson, of the power of art,
To reflect, to comment, and to touch the heart,
For in the end, it's not just a film, we see,
But a reflection, of our values, and our humanity.
