Poetic Film Review: Beyond Borders (2003)
In the realm of film, a tale is told
Of borders crossed and hearts so bold
Angelina Jolie, a star shining bright
Using her platform to shed a light
Upon the plight of refugees in need
A noble cause, a valiant deed
But the critics were not kind
To this film of good intentions intertwined
With Clive Owen by her side
They journeyed through war-torn divide
From London to Cambodia, a world in pain
Their love and hope, a beacon in the rain
Yet the script fell short, the characters flat
Despite the efforts of this talented cast
A message lost in melodramatic haze
Leaving audiences in a confused daze
But still, we must acknowledge the try
To bring awareness to those who cry
For help and aid in their time of despair
Beyond Borders, a film that dared
To shine a light on the darkness of war
And the human spirit that endures
Though it may not have found its mark
Its intentions were pure, a noble spark.
