Silent Child Gets National TV Debut
We were very excited when the movie The Silent Child won an Oscar recently.
This British short film was written by and stars actor Rachel Shenton and is directed by Chris Overton. It was released last year by Slick Films. It tells the story of Libby, a profoundly deaf four-year-old girl, played by Swindon youngster Maisie Sly, who lives a silent life until a social worker, played by Shenton, teaches her how to communicate through sign language.
The movie won the Live Action Short Film category for the 90th Academy Awards this month.
And now it's being show on national TV in the UK - on BBC 1 at 7.40pm on Good Friday.
