Representative Remakes: Pandering To The Politically Correct
Hey You fellow Jessitically Correct advocates
As you may or may not notice I love movies, Tv Series, Books, Anime and Comics basically any medium that can tell a good story I am down to give it a shot. I mean who really wants to concentrate on this shitball we call a planet when we can escape into a fictional world someone else created because they are basically more creative and have a better imagination so you pay to dive into their brain fart.
A good story a great way to get lost in the material and tell the world
Para bailar La Bamba
Para bailar La Bamba se necesita una poca de gracia
Una poca de gracia
while you have your figures in your ears.
Some stories and characters have become household names and resonate with audiences with a sense of wonder or nostalgia that is so deep we feel a bond with these characters. James Bond, Batman, Simba you name it, there's someone for everyone and not because they look or sound like you.
PS leave a comment with your favourite character of all time, I'd be keen to hear who resonates with you
But Hollywood has now got a new bit between the teeth. We all know they're fresh out of ideas and are trying to rehash just about anything from the 70s and 80s but that's not enough, now we want to remake it with a different ethnicity or sexual orientation of the character.
That's how far we've come in 2019, slap Lesbian or black version of character on a shitty script and its bound to get funded and forced on audiences.
I love Batman his one of my favourite characters of all time, but how could I possibly feel attached to him when I've never seen him as a brown man of mixed race origin? How? I don't know, but I do! But Hollywood doesn't think so and enter representitive remakes.

White Washing
Look we've had whitewashing for years and some of it can be forgiven, some characters can clearly be used regardless of race but I mean an Egyptian or and Indian being played by a white dude I think is a bit far fetched.
- Ramesses II and Moses (Joel Edgerton and Christian Bale) in “Exodus: Gods And Kings” (2014)
- Gandhi (Ben Kingsley)
There are literally a billion Indian mother fuckers, You can't tell me you can't get one them to play Gandhi, Seriously. NOt saying Ben didn't do a great job, but well the large part of Gandhi and his history and his teachings and mannerisms come from the fact that his an Indian dude.
That I totally get and I get that you know if someone auditions for the part and his the best its more about delivering a good product than trying to meet some sort of quota.
Not every character needs to be accurately represented though, I mean did you know Charlie from Charlie and the chocolate factory was initially black? No, you didn't because you love that pasty ass vanilla face poor white boy rags to riches story and it really doesn't take away much from the story.
Representative remakes
So what has happened over the last few years? We've seen shitty scripts slapped together and merged with old characters or stories from the past that was popular and then changing the character's gender or race and boom, whole new movie right? None of which have done well, but they keep doing it.
- Female Ghost Busters
- Interacial Charlies Angels
- Female Oceans
- What men want (Remake of what Women want)
I'm hearing the next Bond will be a black woman, I mean really now?
Changes in ethnicity in recent movies
I'm not saying all characters are immune from race or gender changes. Not all changes in ethnicity really made much of a difference to the movie, in recent years we've seen a couple of changes that didn't really bother anyone.
- Nick Fury - Is actually a white dude but Samuel L plays him, did anyone complain? Not really, he was an awesome Nick and made it his own
- Iris West - Actually a white chick, Did people complain? Yes because Candice Patton's portrayal of the character sucks!
- Deadshot - White dude, Played by Will Smith, did people complain? No, because Big Will has major acting chops, the movie sucked but he was good.
- Motoko Kusanagi - Asian chick, played by Scarlett Johansson. People complained but mostly because Anime movies never live up to the hype. Also pretty sure an Asian chick would have done a same job on the movie.
- Aquaman - White dude and blonde, Played By Jason Mamoa, did people complain? No, because he's a badass and a hunk!
Pandering more than progressing
The way I see it now is this is all just a money-spinner pandering to those triggered SJW's who have nothing better to do but complain over some or other so-called civil right. These gender and race castings seem more like an affirmative action cash cow to put bums in seats for below-par content and audiences are eating that shit up for some reason.
Original representative content
If Hollywood were serious about giving different races and whatever more representation they would be focusing on original characters that we can get to know and learn to love. There is no shortage of characters to pick from nor is it such a mission to write an original story.
Want a black supehero movie? Hire some black writers put them in a room and get a damn story written, it's not that hard.
Off the top of my head black/brown characters, they could work within the superhero space would be
- Night Runner (Algerian Batman)
- Miles Morales (Black/Hispanic Spider-man)
- Blue Beatle (Egyptian kid)
Would I like to see these characters on screen? Yes because I like their stories not because they're brown dudes like me, but because they're cool stories! Instead of bastardizing old concepts why don't we come up with fresh new ideas for a new audience.
Have your say

I take offense to the term “Jessitically Correct.” We prefer “Jessder fluid.” As in “I wish that I had Jesse’s non-binary...where can I find a ?????? like that...”. Thank you very much.
LOL this comment made me laugh ugly! I’ll surely try to be more inclusive on my next entry the spectrum is getting so big now you can’t say anything without marginalizing someone

I don't think any of my quips have been about what race they are, that seems a bit stupid in something that is just fiction. I do have a biased against same things especially gender, as with when I was a waiter. I do not care to serve:
Tables with kids on - they are so fucking useless
Tables with only kids - like wtf how are they allowed out their cage?
Same Gender groups - like whitetrash but gender
Same age groups - too much of the same stupid in one place
Same race groups - more of the same stupid in one place
It does get weird when the previous one you liked actually was a same gender or monochrome race movie then they come and flip it... Why they flip it will become clear since they will either be executed or execute it.
Let them do as they wish, I'll just watch something else.
I agree lol put any of one sort of mindset together and it’s a complete shit show!
I suppose so, I just noticed it’s a distinct trend of shit movies that had nothing going for it I the first place so let’s slap an angle on it maybe get some morons to watch it
Pretty sure the Vegan Jeffry Dahmer is coming soon!

My favorite has to be Goku! Dudes got morals, fights for good and is a decent dad to Gohan and Goten LOL
Your post made me laugh dude, I saw the main photo and was like oh god I’m going to read this one. It’s wicked annoying what political correctness is doing but that’s what they designed it to be: divisive. The division is what keeps people fighting and they use these gender and race politics to do it because people get fucking triggered hard.
Oh man thanks for the laughs tho like Nick Fury I didn’t know he was white in the comics (never was a big comic fan). I thought it was so stupid that they picked Scarlet in that anime movie lol I hate her voice she sounds like a dude but then you see her and it’s ok, you can forgive it.
I thought there was another movie that they were going to cast Jet Li but ended up casting a white dude for, not sure tho. It was a movie that required an Asian badass like Jet but they didn’t use him.
I dig Goku too his such a dad with his bad jokes lol
I actually saw the meme and I was like okay I’m writing a post about it because seriously there is no line anymore we just going to see the goal posts moved all the time to enable the divisive triggering and keep people feuding over shit while they don’t see a financial crisis in the works
There’s tons of movies where the casting was completely arbitrary and no one cared!
I just think it’s lame to force this race changes on tired old characters when there so much untapped potential for other shit
Like a blue Beatle movie or take some cool African story like Shaka Zulu that would be like Game of Thrones but with less clothing and more Spears
