Avengers Infinity War: The real History Of Thanos

in #movies7 years ago (edited)

Hello, today I bring you the story of a great villain, this is Thanos.

Created by Jim Starlin in full psychology class, this character presents an interesting game of words in his name, as we will see later. His first appearance was for Iron Man Vol.1 # 55 in February 1973. Since then he has made sporadic appearances in both cross-over events and films.

Connections with Greek mythology

"Thanos" is a deformation of the Greek "Thanatos", which according to Greek mythology was the personification of peaceful death, that is, without pain. As in the Greek stories, Thanos's brother is called Eros, and is in comics his main antagonist.

Origin of The Mad Titan

Thanos was born on Titan, the largest of Saturn's satellites and which in the Marvel Universe acts as home to the race of the Eternals. This race, was created by the Celestial entities, and is the product of an experimentation with humans, resulting in a kind of evolution.

From his tender youth, Thanos showed some interest in the arts of war and death. In his obsession he came to vivisect his own mother in an attempt to understand his own nature and dark inclinations. Finally, it was isolated from the community of Titan, which led to the destruction of this planet.

His growing ambition tempted him to attack the Earth, which was defended by the Avengers resulting in the first death of Thanos.

Resurrection and the Saga of Infinity

Seeing that the universe was
Overpopulated with living souls, the personification of La Muerte decided to resurrect Thanos to reestablish the balance by killing half of the entities. With this mission the first great Thanos saga was started: the Saga of Infinity.
This bow was very popular with Marvel fans and positioned Thanos as one of the cult villains. Perhaps the most remembered series was that of the Glove of Infinity, ordered in War of Infinity, Crusade of Infinity and The End.

The saga came to an end with a new death of Thanos, although in the Samaritan arch we see again how he resuscitates himself and then hide in the confines of the galaxy.
