For the time being, Disney rejoices
Well, exult! Disney officially bought the studio Fox! The most important thing that the fans heard is that now the rights to projects: Avatar, X-Men, Alien, Predator, Die Hard, Fantastic Four, Simpsons, Futurama, Griffins and of course Deadpool, belong to Disney! Also in the list of assets they now have National Geographic, about 300 TV channels, several television studios, and a bunch of the rest, which of course they do not mention in public. But few people at all thought about what effect - this merger can have on the staff of both studios. Richard Greenfield, an analyst with the global financial service BTIG, published on Friday a report that between 5,000 and 10,000 jobs in Fox, could be at risk. Greenfield for a long time was considered the enemy of The Walt Disney Company, after he reporting on the losses of users in ESPN caused a drop in the value of the shares of Disney. Disney, too, is not all smooth! To continue more than 2 billion dollars, the studio will need more than 5000 jobs, and their number can easily increase to 10,000.
Greenfield is far from alone in its criticism of the merger. WGA (Guild of Writers of America) also condemned the deal. The Ministry of Justice must file a lawsuit, despite President Donald Trump's statement that the deal will increase the number of new jobs. Greenfield called it "deception."
